  About Us

Rudy is originally from Joe's coffee shop in Redondo Beach. He served there as a cook until he wanted to fulfill the American dream: Owning his own business. Rudy's in Torrance was opened first, and then more recently Rudy opened this location in Wilmington.

You will find some similarities between Joe's menu and Rudy's. For one, the "John Wayne Breakfast" is featured here. Supposedly, the Duke came into Joe's years ago and asked for a corn tortilla topped with home fries, a couple eggs over medium, sausages, and topped with cheese and spanish sauce. It became a hit and has been a "famous" breakfast ever since. Other items you'll find similar to Joe's are the "Rambo Special", and the "Country Breakfast." But Rudy's is not just a cookie-cutter of Joe's - no, Rudy has his own creations. His carne asada with tomatillo sauce is stupendous. Rudy's special is a large plate of chorizo with 3 eggs, topped with cheese, tomato & guacamole... yum! Besides these mentioned, Rudy's has a good compliment of pancakes, omelets, meat & eggs, burgers and sandwiches.

Formerly, this restaurant was a place called "Jack's." Not sure why Jack decided to get out of the restaurant game, but he gave Rudy a great location, with a long heritage for good eats. Loads of ILWU longshoremen, fishermen, roughnecks, and folks of all kinds meet here to fill up on home cookin'.

Eva and Ginny (my favorite waitresses here) make you feel like you're eating at their home. They have that quality about them - you feel relaxed and at ease. Tip 'em good now!

Breakfast & lunch. Monday - Saturday: 5:30AM til 3:30PM. Sunday: 5:30AM til 3:30PM. Cash only. Free parking in their lot. 558 East Anaheim St. East of the 110 freeway a few blocks.
